Sachi is inspired by the discipline required when painting in theses traditional ways but isn’t caged by traditional content. It’s a natural blend of old and new. Bold portraits and natural fauna and flora influence her strongly. Sachi shares her time in both Japan and Australia and the wildlife and plant life of both countries often appear in her work.
“I feel a connection with each piece because all the paints are organic natural materials crushed to create colours. My white pigment is a crushed beach shell, the brown a crushed rock. I have used many things including 24 ct gold and 18 ct silver leaf. When I brush the silk I feel the coolness of the rock and the fineness if the shell. The whole piece is an organic representation of our planet and this brings me peace when I look at it. I hope that others feel this artistic eco system as well."
