About the Artist

Sarah Lubcke is a realist portrait painter residing in Adelaide, South Australia.

Drawing from many years working in the fashion and beauty realm her work explores the intricacies surrounding the female experience and the deeper symbolism behind how we present ourselves. The rich textures and delicate details in her portraits invite the viewer to reflect on the hidden layers beneath the surface, encouraging them to explore not only the visual beauty but the emotions and stories carried by her subjects.

Sarah obtained her bachelor of Visual Art from the University of South Australia (2014) and continues to develop her practice whilst raising her three young daughters. Her work has earned recognition through the selection as a finalist in National Art Prizes throughout 2025.
