About the Artist
A Brief History
Raelean Hall is well recognised for her beautiful paintings depicting the Sunshine Coast. Her many different styles, mediums and subject matter show her diversity, resourcefulness, sensitivity and sustainability for creativity. A finalist and winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Noosa Art Prize (2016), Raelean also won the Landscape Award and the People’s Choice Award at Kenilworth Art Festival (2015) for her work titled ‘Fire Front’. In 2011 she was awarded the $10,000 Rotary ArtCoast Award (Shadforth Art Prize) with representation and membership in New York. She has participated in residencies, travelling exhibitions, solo and joint exhibitions. In 2016, the Kawana Public Hospital commissioned a collection of 12 seascapes for the Mental Health Ward.
Holding a BA in Psychology (2002), Master and Doctorate in Art Therapy (2006; 2013), Raelean’s extensive studies in creativity and therapeutic portraiture have earned her respect and recognition from Professor Shaun McNiff, Lester University in Boston, USA, being awarded the highest distinction for her research and contribution to the field of art therapy.
