Simon Degroot is a contemporary Australian artist whose practice investigates the intersection of art, design, and architecture through painting, large-scale murals, and site-specific installations. In 2017, Simon was awarded his PhD from Queensland College of Art & Design.

His research employs a methodology of translation that extracts and transforms formal elements from architecture, design history, and visual culture into abstract forms, asking what productive friction remains when constructivist geometry and the flat picture plane are simultaneously asserted and disturbed.
