About the Artist
Biography
Isabelle Devos is a contemporary landscape painter living in the New England area in New South Wales. Her paintings capture a quiet yet bold sense of place and mood. Her work explores scenes which are most often void of people yet we feel the human presence in every scene, with a feeling that a story is waiting to unfold.
Devos has been working as an artist and painter for several years and exhibits regularly with public and commercial galleries in Sydney and Brisbane as well as across regional NSW and in Canada.
Her work is in the collection of the State Library of NSW in Sydney, the Art Bank of New Brunswick in Canada and most recently the New England Regional Art Museum.
In recent years Devos’ work has been a selected as a finalist for the Glover Art Prize, Fisher’s Ghost Art Award and the Lethbridge Landscape Art Prize and Small Scale Art Award.
Devos was successful in 2024 and received an artist grant from Arts Northwest for a collaborative project exploring landscapes in an area she has not yet explored. In 2024 she was chosen as one of 14 artist-mentors with the Horizons program with Regional Arts NSW, supporting young and emerging artists across the region.
